ASIC mining hardware is purpose-built by design. An application-specific integrated circuit is optimised for a single task, running one algorithm as efficiently as possible. That specificity enables its performance advantage over general-purpose computing, but it also defines its limitation: a SHA-256 machine cannot mine Kaspa, and an Equihash machine cannot mine Bitcoin. Each machine operates only within the algorithm it was designed for.

This constraint shapes how a multi-algorithm operation must be structured. Algorithm diversity cannot be introduced through software configuration or firmware updates. It requires physically distinct machines, each optimised for its algorithm, operating simultaneously. The Antminer S21 XP Hydro supports SHA-256 operations, targeting Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash. These machines operate under continuous evaluation, with switching handled automatically based on real-time profitability. While Bitcoin is typically the dominant target, the system adjusts when conditions shift.

The Antminer Z15 Pro operates on Equihash, covering Zcash and Horizen. The Equihash segment is less saturated than SHA-256, offering a different yield profile. The system monitors both coins and adjusts allocation as needed.

The Antminer L11 Hydro 6U runs on Scrypt, covering Litecoin and Dogecoin. Both networks operate on the same algorithm, allowing shared hardware to support both. The relationship between these networks allows hash power to contribute across both simultaneously, with execution managed automatically.

The Antminer KS7 operates on kHeavyHash and mines Kaspa exclusively. As the only coin on this algorithm, no switching occurs. These machines run continuously within that environment.

All machines operate in parallel across HashNet’s facilities. The Alpha Engine manages allocation across algorithms, while output is consolidated and converted to Bitcoin before distribution. The operational complexity remains at the system level, while the output remains consistent.

This structure results in broad algorithm coverage within HashNet’s operating group, alongside peers such as Bitdeer, HIVE Digital, Canaan Inc., and Genesis Mining. The fleet design reduces dependency on any single algorithm environment and supports more stable operation across changing conditions.
